Easy weighted scores for shopping sites

Many shopping websites let you sort their data by one of many fields: by price, or by rating, or by brand name, etc. Some even let you set “advanced search criteria” to specify multiple fields.
But how about sorting by a combination of numeric fields? For example, when listing hotels, a site could compute a weighted score from price and quality ratings. The site could even let the user adjust the weights: “How much do you care about price? about quality? about distance from your location?”
